Kington Show on Saturday - really the last country local show in Herefordshire this year. It was soooo muddly last year but this year will be dramatically different (although we have had thunder and lightening in Kinnersley today!). The third weekend of September is the fabulous autumn RHS show at Malvern - we will be there, the first weekend in October is the equally super Quilt Show at the same venue.
Same day September 11th H.Art starts - what a treat - google it for a map and see how many terrific studios and friendly artists you can find!

August Bank Holiday Weekend - what a choice in Herefordshire. My preference is for a tour around Lingen for the crafts exhibition and then back 5 miles to Presteigne for the festival. A trip on the Sunday down to Hampton Court looks interesting with jousting and actually the open organic vegetable garden at Skenfrith Restaurant would be my temptation.
Coming really soon - first week in September is the stunning H.Art absolutely the best week to see open studios and crafts throughout Herefordshire and creeping up to southern Shropshire. Each year we go in a slightly different direction and pick up new galleries and meet hugely talented artists. The Pembridge Show and Trotting Races introduced us to a new potter who said for the first time he'd open his studio - his raku work is on display at our Bed and Breakfast so that will definitely be one direction I'll be taking.
May Bank Holiday weekend saw the open day of the gorgeous Morgan Horses at Monnington Stud. As a special treat the gardens with stunning sculptures were open with the added surprise of the newly fledged cygnets. Also Aspire's new foal - to be named with a name beginning with I.
